Cut flowers fade in days, and traditional greeting cards end up tucked away in drawers. Flora & Fable was created to turn fleeting life moments—weddings, new arrivals, memorials, milestones, and quiet thank-yous—into an enduring living ritual.
When you plant a seed truffle or card, you aren't just gardening; you are anchoring a memory into the earth. Weeks later, as the first poppies and cornflowers erupt into colour, the celebration blooms all over again.
The bloom returns to the soil. The story stays with you.
"Every living gift in our collection holds a duality:
Flora: The handcrafted seed ball returns to the earth, dissolving in soil and rain to nourish local pollinators.
Fable: The illustrated card and botanical marker remain with you. Designed with heavy archival cardstock and finished with natural jute twine, each piece becomes a permanent keepsake bookmark for your favourite novels, journals, or bedside table.
Plant the bloom, save the story.

1. PLACE
Fill a pot (15–20 cm with drainage holes) with fresh, quality seed-raising mix. Moisten the soil. Press the truffle gently into the earth with the seeded dome facing upward. (Do not pre-soak in water).
2. COVER
Lightly dust with just a whisper of fine soil or vermiculite (1–2 mm max). Many heirloom seeds need sunlight to awaken—never bury the truffle deeply.
3. WATER
Mist gently with a spray bottle or water with a soft rose nozzle to avoid dislodging seeds. Keep the soil consistently damp like a wrung-out sponge, never waterlogged.
4. BLOOM
Sprouts will appear in 7–14 days. Thin seedlings if crowded, and enjoy your living meadow as it unfolds week after week.
When to Sow (Seasons):
Spring (Sept – Nov): Prime sowing season for rapid, lush summer blooms.
Autumn (March – May): Excellent for establishing hardier varieties (poppies and cornflowers) for early spring blossoms.
Indoor sowing: Can be started indoors year-round on a warm, sunny windowsill.
Sunlight & Warmth:
Wildflowers love the sun. Place your pot or garden bed where it receives at least 5–6 hours of direct sunlight daily. Protect delicate young seedlings from harsh frost and scorching wind.
Soil & Drainage:
Use a lightweight, free-draining seed-raising mix rather than heavy garden clay. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot while the paper pulp breaks down naturally into the earth.
Watering Care:
During the first 3 weeks, never let the soil dry out completely. Once plants are 5–8 cm tall, water only when the top inch of soil feels dry.
✔ 100% Non-Invasive NZ Bee-Attracting Wildflower Seed Mix

🌱 WHERE TO GROW:
Thrives in garden beds, outdoor planters, and bright sunny windowsills.
*(A standard 15cm to 20cm pot with a drainage hole is plenty of room for a full meadow).*
Born from a creative bond between two sisters living 14,000 km apart—one in Aotearoa New Zealand (Flora & Fable) and one in Iran (Gol o Ghesseh)—our studio is a bridge between two botanical worlds.
We weave ancient Persian storytelling traditions and wild poppies (Shaghayegh) with the unfurling Koru, silver ferns, and vibrant flora of New Zealand.
Every piece is handcrafted from paper pulp embedded with bee-friendly wildflower seeds. When tucked beneath the earth and watered, your cards and living tokens take root—turning fleeting messages into lasting blooms.
We partner with independent florists, botanical boutiques, museum stores, and eco-conscious gift shops across New Zealand.
Our products are handcrafted in small batches, offering healthy retail margins and beautiful point-of-sale appeal.
